Fall is here and so is so many new anime series! Yay! Exciting isn't it? Of course, I could talk about how exciting My Hero Academia season 4 is but, I will shine some light on other anime series that also deserve some spotlight. So here we go folks.
Alright, Val x Love is an action, fantasy and harem genre anime. The main protagonist is not the most handsome nor the most friendly-looking fellow in the class but such is the anime life. Takuma Akutsu, is a delinquent looking young adolescent that has been shunned from friends and other people his age. This caused him to become very withdrawn and anxious when it comes to socializing with others. However, he has been the lucky fellow that is chosen by Odin, the Lord of Asgard to shoulder the end of the world, and becomes 'the chosen one'. As such he has sent his 9 beautiful daughters to cohabit with him and become their lover, for the source of a maiden's strength is love.
Thoughts? Well, plot line wise, it does fulfill itself as a harem genre. From watching the first episode, I was reminded a lot of Sekirei. If you haven't watched Sekirei, this anime pretty much follows a similar story line. The guy kisses the girl, and the girl's ability to fight is now completely off the roof. She can do all this because of the love she feels from her lover. It is not necessarily a bad thing, but if this is your cup of tea and love to watch semi-nude chicks, go for it.
Enrolled Demon Iruma! is supernatural, comedy, and shonen anime that has recently aired. The main protagonist has had the terrible luck of being born to parents that lack the proper common sense to raise a child. Iruma Suzuki's soul is sold off by his parents to a demon and is taken into the demon realm. To make his luck even worse, he is asked by the demon himself to become his adopted grandson and heir. Due to the child's extreme anxiety and social issues, he cannot say no! Therefore, Iruma becomes his adopted grandson and is quickly enrolled in a school full of demons that want to only devour humans! Hmmm...how will this turn out?
Asides from the very comical moments and the adorable cinnamon roll protagonist characteristic, I would say the series was fun. It is a very typical shonen series but if you enjoy shonen animes and comedy you will surely like it. There is nothing in particular that makes it stand out among other shonens, but the series seems promising. Hopefully, we will see more character development from the main character, and have him become more self confident in his new life as the son of a grand demon lord.
Kemono Michi: Rise Up is comedy shonen that could also be considered to be an isekai. Shibata Genzo is a pro wrestler, that has a soft side for all kinds of animals, regardless of gender and physical looks. His wish is to retire from wrestling and become a pet store owner, however, in a middle of a wrestling match something unexpected happens. In the middle of the match, a beautiful princess from a different realm has summoned for his help, a chosen hero. When Shibata arrives at the summoning castle, he hears out the princess's request to vanquish demon creatures. Baffled by the princess's request, he manages to knock out the princess with one of his wrestling moves, and runs off into town. It is there, he meets all kinds of creatures and townspeople, thus, he decides to stay and taim the wonderful beasts that dwell in the land.
What can I say, this series is extremely funny. First episode in, and I was laughing my head off. Of course, Konosuba's creator is the same as Kemono Michi: Rise Up so there is no surprise as to why it is so funny. Shibata's strange yet adorable love for all kinds of animals will make you laugh and wonder if this is taken to the next level (beastiality). But regardless, the show does show a promise for an anime of its genre, and it will surely make you laugh as much.
Cautious Hero: The Hero is Overly Powered but Overly Cautious is an action, adventure, comedy and fantasy anime. The beautiful goddess Listarte will soon level up in her goddess status, but needs to help of a hero in order to level up as a goddess and vanquish evil from Gairbruden. As she goes through her list of potential heroes, she decides to summon one of the strongest men in Japan, but being strong comes with a heavy price of being very cautious. Hence, the hero Seiya Ryuuguuin, is summoned and is quickly greeted by the beautiful goddess. However, being the most cautious hero there is on the land, he must take extreme precaution to take on the evil villains.
Well, what can I say about this anime? It is hilarious! If you enjoyed anime like Konosuba, this is a definitely must see. The first episode had me hooked in with comedy and our handsome protagonist that will have you drooling. Of course, there is some action and I am sure that will be epic and hilarious fights a long the way. However, so far so good! So go check it out guys.
