After living in a time of peace, their kingdom was invaded by the Kingdom of Mezarte, taking Maquia's friend Leilia as prisoner to use her as a breeding experiment. Leilia's purpose was to produce children with lorph's genes to enhance longevity among humans.
Maquia, being a survivor of her kind, stumbles upon a newborn babe and raises the child as her own. As time passes, Maquia and her adopted son, Ariel, go through many ordeals but they overcome each obstacle in life.
