Shonen animes, something about the genre is so enticing it keeps wanting the audience wanting more. I mean, what's not to like about shonen animes and mangas? There's the protagonist with the 'can-do' attitude, and he must encounter a troublesome challenge in his past, present, or future that will forever change his life, thus leading to an embark in life that will forever touch the audience. Who doesn't love that!
Well , this Spring 2019, Demon Slayer premiered its anime adaptation and it gained A LOT of attention. So, what's wrong with the anime? Nothing, nothing at all as a matter of fact. Demon Slayer brings to the audience the shonen classic protagonist, Tanjiro, who must save his super cute demon sister, Nezuko, and turn her back to human. Both demon sister and warrior brother will melt your heart and want to protect these special siblings.
For those viewers that have not had the chance to watch this epic anime adaptation, here is a quick run down. Demon Slayer is a Japanese manga series by Koyoharu Gotoge . Iit has been adapted in the anime series by Ufotable , this dark fantasy follows the story of Tanjiro Kamado. He is a boy smith with a kind heart that his living by selling charcoal at the local market and vicinities. But one day his life changes when his family is slaughtered by demons (oni), to his shocking discovery the only sole survivor was his sister. His sister, Nezuko, survives the attack but is doomed by fate and becomes a demon herself. Even though Nezuko is no longer human, there still lingers signs of humanity within her thus giving her brother hope that he will find a cure for his sister. This small spark of faith intertwined his fate to become a demon slayer and embark on the path hope, adventure, and dark mysteries that surround the world of demon slayers.
The big question will remain, will Tanjiro be able to accomplish his goal? Who knows, perhaps there is an antidote to Nezuko's demon form or else she will forever remain as she is. But we can say, that Demon Slayer is gaining a lot of popularity and will likely become another big shonen hit among the classics. Demon Slayer is too good of a shonen story to pass up and it is most definitely worth the watch. Till then, let's enjoy the adventures of the odd pair of siblings and their journey to discover more of their world.
As a fellow MHA fan, I have several ships because...well...is hard to pick one! Let's face it, the characters are so well written and everyone has a potential! However, just recently I have noticed a huge increase of Kacchako shippers than IzuOcha shippers. I wondered, why? And and this ship realistic?
the power of acknowledgement
I remember watching the episode 22, the Sports Festival where Uraraka and Katsuki were set to fight. This was the beginning of the ship that hit home for many and thus Kacchako was born baby!! So let's explore the aspects of the fight between these two characters, the fight was incredible. Ochako was nervous prior to the match and she knew deep down inside her, she was facing a very strong opponent. She refused to accept Izuku's plan to defeat Katsuki because she wanted to prove herself as a potential hero. At the beginning of the match, Ochako truly goes at Katsuki with all she's got and proves to be a worthy opponent for him. Even though Katsuki was seen as a 'villain' from the audience and was looked down because he attacked a girl too aggressively, she fought with all her might and proved her worth. Unfortunately, we all know Ochako lost BUT she gained Katsuki's respect and acknowledgement as a fighter. This was a huge building block to the ship because their relationship (romantically or not) is now established by two strong potential heroes that have come to respect each other's power. Afterall, he believes she is not a fragile girl as other may think.
good girl changes naughty boy
Movies like Walk to Remember have been hits because of the whole good girl changes the life of a 'bad' boy and have the romance of a lifetime. However, will the same be applied to the Kacchako relationship? Hmmm.... Truthfully, I have yet to see a moment where Uraraka has had the opportunity to 'change' Katsuki's attitude or change his heart. Katsuki has a very strong personality that not many may enjoy, but it does not mean he is a bad guy! The guy can have common sense when it is necessary, but I do not recognize a moment of 'doki doki' between him and Ochako. However, she does come to understand the mask behind Katsuki and goes as far as telling others that he may feel his pride hurt if Izuku and the others go to rescue him (Season 3 episode 7). So perhaps there is hope these two characters will come to understand each other more in the future.
who does ochako like?
There have been major hints that Ochako may have developed a crush on Izuku and vice versa. There have been moments in the manga, anime, and movie that she is highly interested in Izuku. This usually leads to her getting flustered when being mentioned by him in a romantical way. However, with Katsuki she is able to understand him to the point she analyzes how well he feels about Izuku, as well as telling him why he acts so aggressive with his childhood friend. But that does not point out she necessarily has feelings for Katsuki, she may just be very observant and analytical. So is there hope? Er...maybe.
As a fellow otaku, I have watched countless of good anime that I believe need a second season! Therefore, I put together the top 5 animes that need a second season, because well, they are just too good to pass on.
1. the devil is a part-timer!
Is been six years since the release of The Devil is a Part-Timer! and not a single hint of season 2 (at least that I am aware of that is, trust me, I looked everywhere!). The comedy, fantasy series was a major hit for its humor, and adventure of the Demon Lord Santa entering the human world and trying to survive the life in Japan. Being sent to another realm where magic is limited, Demon Lord Santa does his best to live Tokyo, Japan despite being unintentionally sent there when he was running for his life with his general Alciel. Being chased out of his demon realm, he encounters his nemesis the hero Emilia, and she is bound to defeat the demon lord! However, that must wait, since Sadao Maou needs to ensure he shows up to his part-time at MgRonald! The story follows Sadao Maou living in the human world and trying to get back to his world, where he can continue to be the demon king, but till then he is stuck as a human experiencing many hilarious situations. The big question is, why is there no season 2 for The Devil is a Part-Timer! and if there is, when will it come out? There have been rumors the anime will not be getting another season because it has not been decided yet by the production company's higher ups. So sorry guys.
2. yona of the dawn
As a shoujo fan, I can say Yona of the Dawn is one of the my FAVORITE anime series! You get comedy, romance, historical fiction, and adventure all into one season. I can definitely say that I am not the only fan rooting for this awesome historical drama to receive a second season. The story follows a young naive princess, Yona, that is being overprotected by her father. Her father is considered to be a 'weak' king and is killed by Su-Won, Yona's childhood love and cousin, and Yona is faced with the harsh reality of her fate. As Su-Won is about to dispose of Yona, she is quickly rescued by the devilish handsome Hak, Yona's guard and childhood friend. Together Yona and Hak escape the castle and meet with an ex-high priest that tells them to seek out the legendary dragons that will help Yona and her kingdom. The story continues to follow the adventures of Yona seeking the dragons and fulfilling her destiny. As epic and amazing as this series is, it will likely NOT get a second season. My shoujo heart is hurt but, unfortunately, the series did not make the financial cut it was suppose to. But we can always dream it will in ten years, right?
3. blood lad
Blood Lad is one of the funniest dark fantasy anime I have yet to watch! Staz, is an otaku vampire, that refuses to feed off humans and prefers to indulge his time playing video games, watching anime, and reading manga. One fateful day, he gets the chance to meet a real human girl, Fuyumi Yanagi, that stumbles upon the demon realm and develops a 'crush' on her. Due to some circumstances, Staz must leave the human girl alone in his room while he goes off to fight a monster attempting to take over his territory. After he finishes his epic fight, he goes back and encounters a ghost version of Fuyumi, that has died at the jaws of a carnivorous plant. Flabbergasted, Staz decides to help Fuyumi get back to her human form, thus embarking on an epic adventure that is both hilarious and adventurous. So will this anime ever get a season two? Probably not, because the production studio, Brain's Base, usually does not follow up on sequels of its anime productions. Perhaps another anime production will take over in a few years? Hmm...maybe, let's keep our fingers crossed.
4. yuri on ice!!!
Yaoi on Ice!!!...ahem, I mean Yuri on Ice!!! is a very entertaining sports anime, that even a non-sports fan such as myself enjoyed it. The anime series was a tremendous hit when it aired back in 2016, it became a huge sensation on the internet by otakus and professional ice skaters alike. The story follows an aspiring young skater, Yuri Katsuki, and his struggles of low self-esteem as he aims to be a top notch professional skater. He quickly gains the support form the world famous Russian ice skater, Victor Nikiforov that becomes his coach as well as his darling. Along the way, the audience is introduced to various ice skaters from different parts of the world that also have their own goals and dreams for performing beautifully on ice. The series was well received and also appraised for taking a different angle on yaoi or boy love, than other anime series in the genre. Even though, there has been no news of season 2, fans can expect a movie release at some point in 2019. The production company has been extremely busy making the movie production, there has been no announcement for season 2 project yet. However, since this is a very famous anime series, I am sure there will be a second season near the future (or at least I hope so!).
5. absolute duo
Absolute Duo is one of those animes that do not get enough recognition in the anime community. The fantasy, action, romance anime series aired roughly 6 years ago with no current announcement of a sequel. The story follows two young students, Tor and Julia, that attend Koryo Academy that teaches students how to wield internal weapons known as Blaze. Tor is a somewhat of an outcast, that wields a shield Blaze and is viewed as having very little potentials. Julia, a beautiful foreign aristocrat, wields a powerful weapon and within her resides an incredible amount of power. When both Tor and Julia are bound to become partners, they become the absolute duo. Like many other anime series, the producing company has not made a season two because it likely did not make the financial cut it was meant to. However, it does not mean the anime is not good! It is definitely worth the watch and I highly recommend it.
help support the anime fandom, every bit counts to keep the blog going! thanks for your support and to the followers that keep up with my otaku anime.
Over the years, there have been a lot of anime characters that have a lot of potential to become a 'couple'. Fans ship them left and right, anime fan art starts to get published, and the last thing you know the ship doesn't sail. But why? If there is a hint of romance, bonding, and somewhat a possibility of more than just friendship, why doesn't it happen?
I put together the top 5 anime characters that should have ended together, and possible reasons why the ship didn't happen.
1. riza hawkeye and Roy mustang-Fullmetal alchemist:brotherhood
Nothing is more romantic than a love story that can NEVER happen right? Well Riza and Roy have exactly just that, both commander and subordinate make the ultimate fighting duo but also have roots that go deeper than that of a comrade. Both in the mangan and the anime adaptation fans can clearly see there is more than meets the eye between this couple. Roy became the apprentice of Riza's father, and taught him the arts of Flame Alchemist. It was then that both of them met and grew together into their military status, as they work close and protect one another. Their bond may be strong but it is also limited as to how far their relationship can go. Being in the military would prohibit both Roy and Riza from being officially married, so maybe, it is better that they maintain a commander-subordinate relationship to always be together. What do you think?
2. maka and soul- soul eater
Soul-eater's Maka and Soul could not have been the most match-made in heaven! The bond between the meister and weapon is so strong between these two characters, their souls are connected. Meisters and their weapons need to resonate their souls to be able to fight, however, the soul resonation between Maka and Soul is unique. Their souls are almost in perfect synchronization that it exceeds normal levels between meisters and weapons. Throughout the series we can see both of these characters bicker amongst each other, but it is usually out of concern and affection for one another. They protect each other with all their heart and soul, so the question is why didnt these perfect characters not end up together? This couple lives together, works together, goes to school together, and there is nothing going on? Hmmm...maybe this couple has not come to realize how much they love each other. Perhaps their love is not the type of lovey-dovey, doki doki kind of feel but rather a more deep love that goes beyond their souls.
3. misty and ash- pokemon
Alright, I am going to tackle this Pokeship, because there is a lot of love for this ship! Personally, I think this couple would be great together because of what they have experienced together. Sure, they bicker and tease each other but they really have each others back! Not to mention that Misty saves Ash in the Pokemon movie back in 2000. There were also hints dropped that Misty had a slight crush on Ash and was shown to be jealous of other girls that showed interest in him. Ash also holds Misty very close to his heart, he talks highly about her as he does to no other friend expect for her. Other hints have been dropped such as the 'Under the Mistletoe' song released back in 2001, which is a very adorable Christmas song talking about some hidden feelings both Ash and Misty have but can't express. There has been some rumors the creators of Pokemon have admitted Ash and Misty do have feelings for each other but are too young to admit it is love. However, Ash is not allowed to be entangled in a romantic relationship because that would mislead the whole plot line of the story! Sorry folks, this ship is still up in the air.
4. Yato and hiyori-noragami
A forbidden love between a human girl and the god of calamity? Yes, please! Hiyori and Yato are one of the most shipped couples in the series Noragami, but why aren't they together? Well...odds are because it is difficult to confess to a deity or vise versa. Though the duo met under some pretty strange circumstance, and they formed a strong bond that led from friendship to love. For the anime viewers, do not read further because I will give out a major spoiler. Hiyori and Yato are actually in love with each other, but the love between them MUST NEVER happen! Oh my heart, I cannot take it!! The love between a human and a deity will cause a disaster in the heavens or human world if it were to happen. However, it makes me question as to whether Hiyori is actually a 'normal' human since her soul slips out of her body. Too bad Hiyori realized her love for Yato a little too late, and other deities and regalias have prevented her from confessing to Yato. This ship has not happened yet BUT it could, however, is complicated.
5. yoko and kamina- gurren laggan
Gurren Lagann is not the time of anime where there is a happy shonen ending and everyone cheers....Uhhh...No. As a matter of fact two main relationships are killed off. However, I am just going to tackle the relationship of Yoko and Kamina. From the beginning of the series, both Yoko and Kamina have shown to have a romantic interest in one another. Since the beginning, Kamina sees Yoko and is pleased with the beauty that she is. Eventually, Yoko seems to have fallen in love with Kamina for being the eccentric leader that he is, even though she called his dumb many times, she fell hard. However, their love story was cut off short since Kamina ending up dying before the series ended. At least the guy return the girl's feeling and had a couple of smooches in before death came knocking on the door. Personally, I would have liked for Kamina to stick around a little longer, but his death did play an important role.
thoughts? regrets? disagreement?
So what did you guys think? This is what I believe are the top 5 anime characters that should have ended together, but I am sure there are many more you guys also may want to add. You can comment, send me a message, or reply on social media!
Hey guys! If you are a Fairy Tail fan and you read the manga...this is the post for you! If you do not read the manga, this may be a huge spoiler! So don't read further if you do not read Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest manga, because this post contains parts of the new spin-off manga.
That being said, A LOT has been happening in the FT 100 Year Quest, we know Natsu and the gang were sent off on a quest by the Elefseria, the first master of Magia Dragon, that will fulfill any wish to the gang if they seal the five God Dragons. Our happy-go-lucky gang decides to take on the quest and seal the 5 dragons, and they encounter the town where the Water God DRagon resides and get to befriend him. Also, they get trapped by a Dragon Slayer guild that intend to take the power of the Water God Dragon but as usual, Fairy Tail triumphs. Meanwhile, the Fairy Tail guild gets a particular new member by the name of Touka. To everyone's surprise, Touka is in love with Natsu and has joined the Fairy Tail because she is in love with Natsu, right? Well Gajeel's senses Touka is not a as honest as she seems and may have other motives for joining the guild. Gajeel and Juvia decide to investigate further and have unveiled (along with Jellal) that within Touka resides the White Mage that has stolen magic from the Water God Dragon.
Her motive is to turn the world into 'white' believing that too much power accumulation leads to evil. So we know she intends to turn Magnolia into white to prevent the Fairy Guild from accumulating 'too much' magic, but for what? Seems like she has already planned out for the Natsu and the gang to be stranded with the Water God Dragon and turn everything into white. As the White Mage Touka has an encounter with Jellal, the real Touka holds her back and is stopped by Gajeel. Meanwhile, Natsu and the rest are dealing with the Water God Dragon going on a rampage...talk about a disaster in the making. Little did they know that the Water God Dragon was set up by his own comrade, Caramille (a young child saved by the Water God Dragon), she had intentionally let the White Mage steal the power from him so he would not lose control of his power thus ending his life as well as that of the town he resides in. However, the White Mage stole the restriction of his power not the power itself, and making him a servant of hers.
In Chapter 17, Touka expresses her true motives for coming to Magnolia, and finding Wendy. She had hoped to find Wendy and have her remove the White Mage from dwelling inside her. Unfortunately the White Mage also had motives for going to Magnolia, and turning it into white, and controlling the guild. As Natsu and the others fight against the berserk Water God Dragon, the entire Magnolia has fallen under the control of Touka. In Ch. 19 Natsu and the gang are doing their best to fight the Water God Dragon, but all their efforts are for nothing, and are quickly losing footing in the battle. Natsu, being the reckless fighter that he is, takes on the dragon from a different standing point. The Water God Dragon has turned the sea upside down and pulls his magic from it, and Natsu decides to attack from the upside sea and land on top of the dragon. Little does Natsu know that his attack are mere child play to the dragon, and ends up being sucked into the whirlpool of the upside down sea.
Before he is completely taken over the water, a large scaly hand takes hold of Natsu. The creature speaks and tells the Water God Dragon that Natsu is his and will not let him have Natsu. To everyone's surprise, who is the mysterious creature that has taken a hold of Natsu? The concludes the end of Ch 19, and awaiting Ch 20. Any thoughts? Guesses? Personally, I think that somehow Igneel may not be completely dead and if he is dead Natsu was able to summon him. Perhaps the connection between Generation 1 Dragon Slayers and their dragons are able to summon their foster parents? I think somehow the connection between Igneel and Natsu may be so strong that he was able to connect back to his foster father and thus Igneel saved him. This is assuming that Igneel is the one that rescued Natsu, unless there are other dragons that are interested in Natsu. However, knowing that Hiro Mashima holds his characters dearly, I am going to assume Igneel is back! And if he is back, will the other dragon parents be back as well? Guess we will find out in the next issue!
My Hero Academia was one of the hottest anime movie of summer 2018, and what was the hottest fuss over MHA? Well, I just had to watch the movie for myself and see what made everybody crazed about. Unfortunately, I was not lucky enough to watch the movie in theaters, but I did get to watch it from the comfort of my own home just recently. Now that I have slurped my soda and ate my popcorn, I can say the movie was an interesting watch but was expecting a little more it.
The movie takes place on a man-made island called 'I-Island' where brilliant scientist reside and research Quirks. All Might is invited by his friend Dave Shield (a well-known scientist), and All Might decides to bring Izuku along with him. It just happens to be that other of Izuku's friend are also at the island, taking on part jobs, invited to attend, or tagging along with friends. We also get the intro of a new best girl and daughter of Dave, Melissa Shield that is also quirkless like Izuku. The villain of the story is a terrorist, Wolfram, that attempts to take over the island and kill the residents, while the pro-heroes, scientists, and the bourgeoisie are held hostage at a private party. Lucky for Izuku and his friends, they were not able to make it to the party and are able to assist the pro-heroes in stopping the villains. Plot twist to the story is that Dave had actually planned for the incident to happen to steal back an invention that maximizes a person's Quirk, this was done so the headset did not land in the wrong hands. Dave assumed he had been working with actors to 'fake' being villains BUT turns out the villains were actually working themselves and had planned to steal the invention from the beginning, and ends up kidnaping Dave. To make a long story short, Izuku and his friends attempt to fight off Wolfram and assist All Might in rescuing Dave. For the first time ever, All Might and Izuku throw a duo punch (that part was the best part of the entire movie) together and defeat the bad guy. Hooray, Hooray! The story ends with Dave reflecting on his actions and realizing the future looks bright with the young heroes and his daughter that will continue on their legacy.
Not going TOO much into detail, the movie did have a lot of action packed moments, and I can say it was outstanding! The beginning started off well with a quick background on All Might; however, I was expecting a little more on his background. All Might's history in my opinion, was very brief and that disappointed me a little, I was hoping to see a little more.
There was one scene in particular that I had seen trending over and over again was the dance scene between Bakugou and Uraraka.
I looked all over this scene in the movie and it never happened. Did I watch the wrong version? Nope! Apparently, this scene is a fake. As a fan, I was looking forward to watching the dance scene of these two but it is fan made and it never happened. To clear up the mix up, it never happened, sorry fangirls. That doesn't mean there is no hope for this ship right?!
Overall, I can say the movie is worth the watch, the fights are epic. The best part is seeing All Might team up with his mentor and just go at it. That was the ultimate sensei and student punch that only comes around so often, and it will be forever ingrained in our otaku memories.
Now the DVD release in the Americas is March 26, 2019. However, you can pre-order your copy at a lower price! You can also purchase your pre-order movie with a free gift from RightStuffAnime.
Also, for the manga reader fans..there will be no Ch. 218 until the first week of March. The manga will go on a break and will continue at the beginning of March. Fans can take their time to catch up on reading or finish digesting the last few chapters until March!
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, romance anime is sure to make its way into our otaku hearts and make us go doki doki. As a fellow weeb I have had my fair share of experience watching many, many, and I mean MANY romance anime. Gotta love the sweet romance and comedy breaks that only anime can bring. Because we all know how cute it is when anime characters confess their feelings to each other and have that completely adorable red face and stuttering. Kinda hard to compare to real life romance series or movie, am I right? So, I want to share with my viewers the top 5 romance comedy animes you must watch this Valentine's Day (whether it be with your special someone or by yourself, either way you gotta watch it!).
1. Kamisama Kiss
This is one of my favorites, Kamisama Kiss is truly a sweet anime to watch. Kamisama Kiss about a young high school girl by the name of Nanami. She has the unfortunate luck of being kicked out of her apartment due to her father's gambling and lifestyle problems. During the night she is left to wonder the park alone, she encounters a man stuck on a tree because he is being pestered by a dog. She helps the man, Mikage, get rid of the dog and in return for the favor, he gives her his home. She accepts it grateful and realizes that his home is actually a shrine. At the door, she is greeted by the spirits of the house and Tomoe, the familiar of Mikage. The sweet girl soon realizes the man she saved was the Earth Deity and has bestowed his blessings on Nanami to be the new Earth Deity of the shrine. At the beginning, she refuses to accept her new role; however, she finds herself working hard to be a deity worth of the title. Slowly but surely, she also starts to fall in love with Tomoe, and he also begins to have feelings for her. However, it is a taboo for humans and spirits to be in a relationship.
Overall, the anime is romantic and has comedy breaks to entertain. It is a rather sweet anime, and will keep you wanting more with each episode you watch. The development between the two characters also makes this anime stand out, both characters begin with a mutual feeling of unfriendliness and turns into a blossoming love.
Harem animes tend to have the reputation of fan service and ecchi genre tagged to it. However, Nisekoi does not fall into either of those. Even though it is a harem anime, the storyline is a sweet romance for the ages to come and it also is very very funny. The protagonist of the story, young Raku, made a promise years ago to his childhood sweetheart that he would marry her. Together, both children made the promise to marry one another and exchanged a locket and the key to unlock the pendant, as adults they would open the secret within the locket. As a young high school boy, Raku has kept his promise and continues to wear the locket. During a fateful meeting on one school day, Raku bumps into a beautiful blonde girl that causes him to lose his locket. Soon he realizes, the young blonde beauty is his classmate and also the daughter of an American gangster leader by the name of Chitoge. To his luck, Raku's father has made arrangements with Chitoge's father to 'fake' going out to make peace between the two gangs. However, both Chitoge and Raku dislike each other and Raku already has a love interest, Kosaki. As the story progresses Kosaki and Raku obviously have a crush on each other but more and more girls from his childhood years appear with keys to his locket, along with Kosaki and Chitoge.
Nisekoi is unlike other romance harem animes because of drama of who is the girl that hold the key to Raku's locket. Also, each girl truly falls in love with Raku as the nice guy that he is, but the chain of events lead Raku to the one and only girl that is meant for him. This anime will have you rooting and picking for your favorite ship. Personally, it was tough for me to pick a specific ship because I thought each girl held her own unique charm.
2. Kiss him, not me
Kiss Him, Not Me is a reverse harem with the protagonist being a major otaku girl, Kae Serinuma. At the beginning of the series Kae is a chubby sweet, yaoi fangirl and is not noticed by the boys because of her looks. However, during an emotional turmoil from her favorite yaoi series, Kae becomes very depressed causing her to lose tremendous amount of weight. She soon finds herself transformed into a gorgeous girl and becoming the center of attention of the hottest guys in school. Soon she is the center of attention of the boys' interest but she would much rather watch the boys be in a romantic relationship among themselves and not her.
What I enjoyed about Kiss Him, Not Me is the many possible pairings in the series. I am not just talking about Kae being paired up with the different boys. Among the boys is a girl that has romantic feelings towards Kae. The series is open to yuri, yaoi, and straight ship for the viewers liking and the dynamic of the possible relationships is what makes this romance comedy stand out.
4. Lovely complex
Unlike other romance animes, lovely complex holds a unique standing on love between a tall girl and a short guy. Koizumi is the tallest girl in the class and stands out like a sore thumb; meanwhile, Ootani is the shortest guy in the class and well...enough said. The two characters have strong personalities that complement one another but it may seem so at the beginning of their romance. Since both stand out due to their height, they are known as the class clowns and soon both of them decide to help each other.
What makes this romance comedy a Valentine's Day must see? Both characters are unlike other protagonist that are 'picture perfect', a tall and a short boy falling in love makes it interesting to watch. Also, their ridiculous act makes it the worthwhile to watch as you will be laughing at loud at their daily high school lives.
5. The quintessential quintuplets
Thank goodness for 2019, because at the beginning of January 2019 the Quintessential Quintuplets began to air. This is a new anime that is considered to be a 'romantic comedy'. Though personally, I would also consider it a harem...why? Because the harem is composed of the quintuplet sisters! The entire season is not completed but it matters not, it still a really good anime choice to wait this holiday. The story follows the main male protagonist, Uesugi, the tutor and senpai of the Nakano siblings (quintuplet sisters). The Nakano family has recently moved in the area and the father is looking to hire a tutor for his daughters to tutor them. The girls are at the brink of flunking a grade and is up to Uesugi to ensure the girls pass high school. However, his tutoring experience and relationship did not start off the right foot, and the girls are actually against having him as their tutor. Dealing with different personalities and interests it is up to senpai to ensure the girls graduate or will they end up falling for him?
The anime series is still pretty fresh and there is still a lot of plot to be developed through out the season. The only clue the audience has received is at the beginning of the anime, it is safe to assume Uesugi has married one of the girls. One of the girls and himself is telling the story of how it all began. Besides that the first episodes has been about Uesugi getting the girls to work with him and getting to know them personally, and individually. However, I would recommend watching it and giving it a shot.
