Season 9 of the Fairy Tail series came out last year 2018, and with it a lot of new feelings. For those fans that have not read the manga I will say that this article may contain some spoilers for you. If you are both a manga and anime fan, keep reading.
One of the most disappointing ships in Fairy Tail has been the 'Nalu' couple. In the manga, both Natsu and Lucy end up very single and continue to have a normal friendship. After all the hints and flirtatious moments both of these characters have, there continues to be no romance development between the two. Why? Well for starters the author, Hiro Mashima, has no intention of making them an official couple. When the manga ended he intentionally did not play the matchmaker game with the 'Nalu' ship because he felt his fans would be disappointed with Natsu being in a relationship with Lucy or with Lisanna. Mashima-sensei felt the necessity to keep Natsu single would be a safe play, since he did not want to anger with Nalu and Nali shippers.
Yikes! Apparently the 'shipping' wars has gone a little too far and causes Mashima-sensei to hesitate in bringing Lucy and Natsu (or Lisanna) together. Afterall, many fans were in an uproar since all the pairs (with the exception of Levy and Gajeel or Evergreen and Elfman) have not been officially confirmed. Fan satisfaction is not the only reason why the Nalu ship won't sail its sail, but rather out of convenience. Once a favored anime couple has established their relationship, it is soon expected that they will settle down and have children. Right? That's what we fangirls want after all! Darn it, I want to see some Nalu babies before I die! However, Mashima-sensei can't continue the story of Natsu and his friends generation because it is expected for the next generation of Fairy Tail members to continue the story. A good example is the Naruto franchise, Hinata and Naruto established their relationship and what do we get next? Boruto! The story must go on with the adventures of Naruto and Hinata's children and let's not forget Sasuke and Sakura's daughter Sarada. Therefore, it is expected that the offsprings of the Fairy Tail member's will continue the legacy.
I do not think the author is ready to let go of the Fairy Tail members and move on to the next generations. Also, Fairy Tail 100 Year Quest manga was released not too long ago and it continues to be inadequate time for the Nalu couple to get together. I am sure the spin-off will continue to thrive for a couple of years and that may put the idea of them together on hold for a really long time. The new release of Eden's Zero may also impact the bi-weekly spin-off since, Mashima-sensei is working on both the new manga and overlooking the spin-off. Some fans may not bat an eye but it takes a lot of work and effort to publish one manga chapter, and I am sure the author does not want to to take the time to make the 'perfect romantic confession' between Lucy and Natsu (at least not yet, right?).
Aside from Mashima's reason to avoid the Nalu ship, there is also character development. Natsu is a heroic member of the Fairy Tail guild but he lacks the maturity to comprehend a relationship. Relationships are built upon trust, love, and responsibility even though he has a strong bond with Lucy, he lacks the understanding of how their relationship could turn to a possible romantic one. As a character, he shows very childish behavior and often misinterprets flirtatious signals. He may act perverted on some occasions towards Lucy but he has not shown to be the romantic type of guy to swoop Lucy off her feet (with the exclusion of the time he sailed a Magnolia tree down the waterway for Lucy when she was sick, but I doubt it was meant to be romantic). Inexperience may be a major contributor as to why he does not take a step forward to the next base and hit off. Afterall, he was raised by a dragon and focused most of his energy on quests as well as searching for his foster father. Perhaps the lack of understanding of romance and relationships is what Natsu lacks, but it raises the question as to when we will see him have a change of character development.
In the new spin-off series, we do encounter a possible love rival for Lucy, the white mage Touka. She is infatuated with Natsu and claims to be love at first sight. That may be the case, but I doubt Natsu will return her feelings in a heart beat as well as to question his relationship with Natsu. More likely she will be the factor that enhances the love confession between Lucy and Natsu or be the power wheel to realize their relationship is more than platonic. Either way I hope to see more development between these two characters as well as a reaction from the Touka, Natsu, Lucy love triangle.
Looking for a thrilling anime to watch? We are glad that you are always savoring those awesome anime series, well this one is a must see!
Castlevania, where our beloved Vlad Tepes or Vlad the Impaler well know as Dracula, meets his match. A tremendous love story engulfed with anguish, destruction of the human race, guts spilling encounters, ( wait that doesn't sound romantic at all for a love story right?), ah, who cares we are talking about the ruler of Wallachia where heads on pikes were to the order of the day.
This story also brings an amazing group together, the lovely Sypha, member of an ancient brotherhood that is in charge of keeping historical records that are passed on from generation to generation. Along with her gifted talent for the arcane arts, this young woman doesn't need to show her body parts for one to know that there is beauty behind that worn out cloak she wears.
The handsome and fearless monsters hunter Trevor Belmont, if you ladies out there like the type of guy who lives his life like he has no worries in the world, look no further that's him alright, he is rough and a heck of a fighter. But also a guy who values his family's traditions and protects the innocent, being cast out by the church and according to the story the last member of his family he finally finds a sense of companionship.
And last but not least, Alucard, none other than a vampire himself, willing to change the current situation for humanity. Even at the cost of his life perhaps, but he will try to stop Dracula's plan to extinguish the human race from the planet. Almost as strong and powerful as Dracula he will need help to defeat such a mighty enemy.
Dracula surrounded by his own army of generals finds no peace in his mind knowing that loyalty is a hard thing to obtain when we rely on others to see our goals being achieved.
This awesome series is inspired by popular video game Castlevania, Netflix has come along in such a great way for us viewers, providing us with excellent programming for our entertainment.
Personally I loved this series because as a kid I was always fascinated by story of Dracula, I think a good percentage of us are always attracted to the unknown or mysterious ways that some parts of history have been recorded, ancient civilizations, world wars, major catastrophic events like the Pompeii city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D.
What I like or dislike about this particular series?
I like, no wait let me recap that, I love the medieval setting where this story develops. It is dark but not boring, it has this very interesting ancient technology that is misunderstood by the people of that particular timeline, especially if it has not the approval of the church which in reality that's how it was during that specific time in history.
The fights (oh men) I really enjoyed the crude and gruesome ways to dispatch those poor bastards, ( I am not a violent person perse, but with a drink in hand and crunching chips in my mouth is all forgiven). Now what I don't like about the series, is the long wait for the third season, which is obviously being brewed somewhere. Yes, I know we do suffer when we anime lovers find a really cool production, we enjoyed it, we make time to watch it and then bam, no more, we are what?
Be patience, yes believe or not is a virtue, there will be a third season, I least I hope so but for now be nice, be cool, and keep on watching what you enjoy.

Some animes finish up with a great big bang and others seem to never end. Others may end but continue to commemorate as the best anime 'ever' no matter how many years have passed. However, I feel some of these 'best animes' are a bit mainstream and do not seem to have an end no matter how good they are. Nothing wrong with mainstream anime, as a matter of fact, I am a fan of some of them BUT sometimes it would be nice to see it end. So here are some of the most overrated animes I feel are overrated (it does not mean they are not good because some of these are!).
1. Death Note
Death Note is considered a masterpiece and the best anime out there for many fans. I can sympathize, why? Because the plot is orchestrated diligently and the suspense on the mystery of catching 'Kira' is thrilling. There are not many animes out there that can bring forth an intriguing story about a guy killing people with a book and a pen, so I will applaud the author. HOWEVER, I feel fans have placed this anime on a golden throne and praise it to be the best ever. Could it be that the anime has gotten more attention because of Netflix? YouTube? There are many more animes out there that are just as good as Death Note and not much praise is given to them. It is quite unfortunate and I feel it is overly done. This is a great anime for a newcomer to the anime community or for someone who has never watched an anime in his or her life, but as an anime fan, I feel there is more to Death Note in the fandom.
What can I say? Naruto is considered to be one of the best animes out there. The anime does encourage positive image to young teens and adults so I am not going to be 'nay' to it. It has comedy, action, and a well-paced plot that some animes may lack. BUT since it is so well known in the anime community, it is pretty mainstream. Naruto is long overdue and perhaps one of the first animes seen by many fans, but it has gotten pretty old. The franchise cannot get enough and has continued to promote its spinoff, Boruto, based on Naruto and Hinata's son. Which I think satisfies the nostalgia of many fans, yet keeps on stretching the Naruto franchise. In my personal opinion, it is way overdone and it never seems to end.
3. Dragonball Z
I remember as a child watching DBZ in my pajamas and eating my favorite snack. What perfect days those were! However, not so perfect now that I am an adult. I do enjoy cruising through other bloggers and YouTubers channels on DBZ news, but I feel that it has lasted way too long. The series never seems to end no matter what turns and twists it takes, as a matter of fact, Goku became a grandparent! Wow! Yes, DBZ is that old that even the main character became a grandparent and still looks pretty damn good for an old fellow that never seems to age no matter what. Anyways, I am quite surprised it continues to have a lot of followers and many continue to be loyal to the series (which is fine if that is what you like) but it baffles me that it is regarded with a lot of support from the community. To me, it will hold a special place in my childhood memories but that is about it.
As a child that grew up watching Pikachu and Ash every weekend morning, I can say it was awesome!! As an adult, I can say that I am surprised that it continues to release movies and new episodes. Before joining the anime fandom, I thought Pokemon was finished but boy was I wrong. The franchise continues to market merchandise as well as the series in every possible way. Which is nice if you are a pre-teen and have never watched anime before, but as an adult it feels disappointing that Ash never grew up. In other anime series, the main protagonist grows up and has children of his or her own like Naruto or DBZ but not Ash. The poor fellow continues to be a 12-year-old child that only gets an update every 3 to 5 years on his face, clothing, and hat. It would be nice to see Ash grow up and introduce a new protagonist to the franchise rather than keeping an eternal 12-year-old boy. However, marketing specialist does not feel the same as I do, but that is ok maybe in 30 years right?
5. Sword Art
Online I remember when SAO was not mainstream yet, and it was quite enjoyable. However, it has gotten pretty big and continues to be extremely popular. The storyline is pretty good, and there is enough butt-kicking for me to stick around. BUT it has joined the mainstream ranks in these past few years because it everyone knows about, reads about, breathes about it, and continues to talk about it. Which is fine but there are other animes like SAO where the protagonists are 'stuck' in the game that are more intriguing. The series is still enjoyable, but it never seems to end. Why can't Asuna and Kirito get married and live happily ever after? Please do not let this be another eternal teen story. Then again this is my opinion and I think the story should start wrapping up after this upcoming season on October.
These are what I consider to be the top 5 most overrated animes, and do not get me wrong some of these continue to be enjoyable. However, I feel that it should end at some point (20 years is enough time) and let new fresh ideas give way.

Hey guys, if you are reading this...you know the struggle. To read the manga or to watch the anime? Which one goes first? Ugh, I have had this terrible life choice moment so many times. I read about an amazing anime story and I feel conflicted to read the manga first or to simply stick to the anime. I have found that either one can make you happy or make you suffer.
From my personal point of view, if you are going to watch the anime, don't go back to manga for spoilers! You will either be terribly disappointed of the changes that were made or laughing in the inside of the spoilers you know will occur in the following season. As a fan, I have had this disappointment in one specific anime, Fairy Tail. I love the series and I am a big fan. However, I decided to begin watching the anime show prior to reading the manga material. The next thing I know, I have binged watch all the seasons and movies up until the last arc. However, I need to know more about the story and guess what? I turn to the manga. Not only do I know the ending of Fairy Tail, but I feel disappointed because the end was not what I wanted but also feel a bit disappointed because I know the next season will disappoint me again with the ending. So did I do wrong?
Fairy Tail Avatar Arc
stick to your guns
As a fan, I respect other fans, and I will give a word of advice: stick to your guns. Stick to what works best for you. There are so many arguments and disagreements on what is best and what is not. Let me tell you, it does not matter. Whether you strictly follow the manga or refuse to go with the story until season 2 comes out is up to you. There are some major or minor changes in the stories such as character dialogue ( for example, changing Levi's dialogue from Attack on Titan to a lesser offensive dialogue) or changing the storyline such as Seraph of the End manga versus season 2. Major a change in that one let me tell you! BUT it does not matter. Why? Because you dear viewer, decide which one you like best and stay true to either the manga or the anime.
Avoid the temptation
Thirdly, avoid spoilers. It is so hard, yes i know, it can be tough to avoid spoilers. But brace yourself and be patient with either the next manga volume or the next season. With the internet booming with spoilers and fanfic, is pretty tough not to know what will happen next. But avoid it at all cost, or embrace it if you are a spoiler addict. I know there are some in the fandom that adore spoilers and cannot wait to tell their buddies about it. However, if you can, avoid spoilers and do not google it! Remember, at some point you will know what happens to your favorite characters. If you do start following spoilers, you will soon find yourself struggling with either to watch the anime or read the manga.
Prior to beginning either one, is best to decide which one you will consider to be more reliable. In my mind, I prefer the manga. Why? Because usually the manga comes out prior to the anime and I consider it to be the 'original story'. If there is an amazing anime story I want to indulge myself in, I decide I will read the manga first and then watch the anime to decide if it is worth my time to watch it. If not, I drop the anime and continue to read my manga. However, there are times when a extremely popular new anime series comes out and I have no time to read the manga so I start watching the anime. If I do start watching the anime, I decide I will not read the manga to avoid contrast/comparison between the two. An example of this is Darling in the Franxx, I watched the entire season without reading the manga. I know, silly! But I rather stick to the anime version and continue to love this amazing storyline rather than critique the difference between the two. But then again, that is just me.
Also, don't let my opinion change your mind about manga vs anime. I think both are great and offer two different ways of enjoying the anime. Sometimes reading the material and watching it simultaneously is also a great way to continue to relive and enjoy the experience. There are some animes that are worth the read as well as worth watching. So continue on reading and watching anime because that is what makes us otakus!

As a fan of harem animes, I enjoy watching a man guy and several girls thrown into a adventure together. Not in the erotic kind of way, but rather in the drama of the story or simply the comedy that makes it worth the while to watch! Harem animes to me are one of my favorites, so I have the top 5 must-see harem animes (in my opinion). So here we go!
1. How NOT to Summon a Demon Lord
This is one is just a truly gem of all gems harem anime. It has been recently released and the first season is not completed yet. However, if you like to binge watch, do not let that discourage you. The anime begins with lots of humor, fantasy, and action. Diablo is a game otaku that is extremely socially awkward, and is magically summoned by two beautiful girls (Rem, a loli pantherian and Shera, a princess elf). Both girls meant to enslave Diablo but their magic backfired and resulted with both girls being enslaved to him instead. With both beautiful girls enslaved, Diablo decides to come to terms with them and sets to become an adventurer and set them free (because he is an otaku and does not know what to do with them). Long story short, both Rem and Shera bring upon home lots of secrets they hold and with them troubles, but Diable being the powerful Lord Demon has set his mind to help them both.
2. Yuuna and the Haunted Hot Springs
If you enjoy sexy girls, paranormal, and humor this is one you must not miss. Kogarashi is a psychic who has been troubled by spirits since he was a child, but as a young adult he has learn to exorcist these pesky entities that have made his life miserable. In search of a new home and a new start, he decides to rent a dirt cheap room at a boarding house, where it once was a flourishing hot spring inn. It matters not because he is an expert exorcist and he can get rid of the ghost that haunts the room. However, things turns spicy as he realizes the ghost is an attractive young girl that has not gone to heaven yet. However, she is harmless and both Kogarashi and Yuuna (the ghost) decide to be roomates and live life as normal as possible. But what is normal when the boarding house consist of women that are not your-average-ladies? This harem comedy is surely to make you laugh and enjoy fan services at the same time
3. High School DxD
High School DxD is your typical man fantasy, and that is just about as good as it gets. Issei is just your average perverted high school boy, and he does not have much luck with the ladies. That is until he gets his first girlfriend! A total knockout girl becomes his first girlfriend, what a lucky fellow! Unfortunately that relationship ended shortly after she kills him and leaves him to his last breath at a park. Poor guy. His luck turns around when a beautiful red-hair demoness, Rias, turns him into a demon. Shortly afterwards Issei belongs to Rias's demon household and becomes her 'pawn' (the battles within the anime assimilate that of a chess game). From here on out he finds himself in comical and perverted situations that results many of the other surrounding females to fall for him. What can I say, the fellow is quite the nice guy, once you get past his 'Oppai' obsession. His only goal in life is only to become the best Harem King there is, so check it out and you will surely be laughing your tail off with this super funny and action anime.
4. Konosuba: God's Blessing in This Wonderful World
This anime is bound to have you cracking up from episode one, season one until the last episode of season two. Within the first ten minutes of the anime, I was hooked, it was literally hilarious. The story follows a young boy, Kazuma, that is a hardcore retroverted otaku. While out getting the lastest game edition, he ends up getting himself killed. Soon he finds himself in what I would call life after death, and meets the goddess Aqua. She gives him the choice to go to heaven or to be sent a kingdom in another space/time where he has the opportunity to become an adventurer and kill the evil Demon King. Like a good otaku fellow that he is, he chooses to be sent to another world to make himself a legend and takes Aqua with him (he had the choice to have superpowers, extremely powerful weapons, or talent so he chose Aqua). Aqua is reluctant to go but is sent with him to the other world. Little did Kazume know that Aqua is actually a bit of blonde and not a very useful goddess. As they struggle to live life as a daily adventurers, they form a guild party with two other members. The story line follows the four friends that make incredibly hilarious mistakes and attempting to find themselves in this wonderful world.
5. Akashic Records of Bastard Magic Instructor
Also like the previously mentioned animes, Akashic Records does contain humor and fan servicing. The story follows a young high school girl, Sistine, that is a devoted student wanting to be the best at using magic. She wants to follow into her grandfather's dying wish and to do so she must become the best of the best. However, that all goes down the hill when the students must be taught by a temporary teacher that is unfit to teach magic. At the beginning of the story, Sistine dislikes and feels the temp teacher is simply not competent enough for the job and threatens to get him fired. This is surprisingly good news for the teacher, Glenn, and wishes not to hold and the job. His laziness gets the best of him but he has fooled his students into believing that he is incompetent. That all changes when the school is under attack and Glenn must step in to protect the students and keep himself alive as well. This show will have you laughing. rooting, and enthrall you with government conspiracy (if that is your thing).
So there it is. The top 5 must see harem animes! Hopefully you will go and check out some of these shows and share the same appreciation for them as I did. As always, I will continue to watch and write more reviews for you guys.
